How to invite external guest into a Florida Polytechnic University Team.

  • Florida Poly User - Create a New Team.

  • Guest Outside of Florida Poly - Needs to create a Teams account Next. This is free and they can use any email address they want.

    • Creating your free Team's account and downloading the app

      • Note: This is for a Gmail account but the instructions work for any type of email address.

      • Note: The password you use is your Team's password, not your email’s password.

      • Note: It is recommended you download the desktop app instead of using the web version. Instructions are in the video.

  • Florida Poly User - Invite the guest as a member of your Team. IMPORTANT: Make sure you send the invite to the email address they used to create their Teams account.

  • Guest Outside of Florida Poly - You will need to accept the invite that has been sent to their email.

    • If Teams was open while you accepted the invited you will need to quit Teams and start it again.

  • Guest Outside of Florida Poly - There might be a time that the guest would open Teams and it does not open in the Florida Polytechnic Teams. It instead opens in their organization, which they created when they created their free Teams account. Below are the steps that show you how to switch between organizations in Teams.

    • Navigate to the top right where your current Organization name is and click on it. Then click on Florida Polytechnic University.

      • Note: This is for the App.
