Windows 11 Upgrade in Software Center

This article explains the steps when upgrading a computer to Windows 11 through Software Center. This article starts off after a users computer has been added to the group to receive the Windows 11 In-place upgrade task.

 Instructions

Find and start the task

To run the upgrade from off-campus please connect to the VPN https://floridapoly.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/4/article/2099773441

  1. Open Software Center

  2. Navigate to Operating Systems on the left hand side.

  3. There should be a task available called “In-Place Windows 10 to 11 Upgrade”

  4. Click on the task to open it and you will be presented with an option to install. Click install to begin the upgrade.

  5. You will be presented with one more prompt to confirm you want to start the install, click install one last time.

  6. Wait for the upgrade to finish, this can take one and half to two hours depending on the machine and network speed.

Be aware that incompatible applications will be removed like Active Directory RSAT tools, these will need to be installed back after. https://floridapoly.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HKD/pages/3046604816
