Joining a Flex computer classroom virtually

Virtual classrooms utilizing the VMWare Horizon Client and virtual desktops have been setup to run in tandem to the in-classroom experience. To join your virtual classroom, follow the below steps up to 10 minutes prior to the class start time.

  • Open a browser and go to https://apps.floridapoly.edu. If necessary, log in with your Florida Poly username and password. If you haven’t yet set up the VMware Horizon Client, see https://floridapoly.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TSKB/pages/394297345 .

  • Select the Catalog tab.

  • Select Virtual Desktops.

  • Depending on the class, select Desktops – Standard or Desktops – Graphics. If you’re unsure of which to select, see https://floridapoly.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TSKB/pages/747143223

  • A prompt will appear confirming that you’ve entered the virtual classroom and that your computer is viewable by the instructor. This allows for your instructor to provide the same assistance as if you were in the physical classroom. If the prompt does not appear, try signing out and back in during your normal class time. The desktop will be monitored until you sign out. Outside of normal class hours, the virtual desktops will not be monitored by an instructor.
