Solutions Delivery is pleased to announce the Workday 2024R1 Release is scheduled for delivery and installation in production on March 9, 2024. Boasting nearly 150 new or enhanced features, this release is currently available for testing in our preview tenant.

This release primarily focuses on backend improvements to optimize infrastructure, which end users may not immediately notice. Many of the new features are automatically available, while others are currently undergoing expert review and configuration to ensure smooth deployment.

The most visible enhancements university-wide include:

Announcements: The relocation of the announcements section to the top right of the home page ensures critical messages are more prominently displayed, offering a scroll feature for easy access to additional announcements.

Your Top Apps: The newly-incorporated Your Top Apps section of the home page streamlines access to frequently used tasks and worklets. By showcasing the first four apps from the Global Navigation menu, it facilitates swifter and more convenient navigation.

Worklets Transitioning to Hubs: Workday is transitioning from individualized worklets to consolidated hubs within the global navigation menu. These hubs serve as centralized spaces organized by topic or job function, offering navigation menus, customizable landing pages, and access to internal and external links. Notably, four worklets—Benefits, Pay, Expenses, and Career—are set to retire on March 9, 2024, making way for the Benefits and Pay Hub, Expenses Hub, and Jobs Hub, all available for testing in Preview now.
