How to Open Applications from the VMware Horizon Client

  • Open a browser and go to https://apps.floridapoly.edu. If necessary, log in with your Florida Poly username and password.

  • Click the bookmark for Horizon Client Installer then download the version for your operating system and follow the steps to install. If prompted to restart, click Restart Later. For more detailed steps, check out https://floridapoly.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TSKB/pages/747143184 .

     

  • If the link above isn’t in the Bookmarks section, switch to the Catalog and click the Recommended category.

  • Return to the Florida Poly Apps webpage, click your name in the top right corner then select Settings.

     

  • Click Preferences then click the Browser option, switch back to the client option then click Save.

     

  • Click Back to return to the application catalog and bookmarks page then launch the app of your choice.

  • Click Open Horizon Client. (Your browser may show this prompt in a different way.)

     

  • Make sure to click Allow when prompted to allow sharing.

  • If you missed this prompt or need to make changes, right-click on the tray icon and select Sharing (Windows shown, MacOS is similar).

     

  • When saving or opening a document, navigate to This PC and click the Network Location with your username and computer name.
