Multi-Factor Authentication (or “MFA”) is a security measure that adds another layer of protection to your Florida Poly NetID account in addition to your password. MFA is an important tool in protecting the security of your NetID and the personalized information and services it provides to you.

Upon first use of your Florida Poly NetID, you are required to setup MFA. The University encourages certain best practices in setup and use of our MFA tools.

The primary MFA system used at Florida Poly is Microsoft Authenticator, so all NetID users should become familiar with Microsoft Authenticator options and best practices.

Selected systems still use Duo as the MFA tool, though we are in the process of moving all MFA to the Microsoft Authenticator platform. Most of these systems are used by employees but not students. Unless you use one of these systems, you do not need to setup and use Duo for MFA.
