Microsoft has released a new version of the Teams app and will discontinue the current classic Teams interface effective Sunday March 31, 2024. This transition is part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to enhance the user experience and provide you with the latest features and improvements.

Noticeable Changes from the Classic to the New Teams Look

  • Left Navigation Menu:

    • The naming of files has been replaced with OneDrive.


  • Help menu option:

    • Relocated to the top right, accessible from the ellipsis menu.


  • The Profile Menu now includes options to set work locations as well as the ability to add another account to the Teams apps.

    • The Sign out has been moved to the top right corner 


  • Connecting to a Teams meeting:

    • Video and Audio has been updated to a drop-down selection.

Start using the New Teams

  • To get started using the new Teams, flip the toggle next to Try the new Teams in the upper-left corner of the classic Teams app:

Can I Switch back to Classic Teams?

  • Yes, until March 30, 2024. Microsoft will force the new Teams effective March 31, 2024.
