To Begin Screen Sharing:
Open Bomgar from your desktop and authenticate using SAML credentials. If you do not have access, contact your BOMGAR administrator.
To start a session, click Start…. On the prompt that opens up, you can send the link to a customer by clicking Email or by directing them to support.floridapoly.edu and pasting in the session key (retreived by clicking Generated Session Key)
Select a session by clicking a person in the queue
On the screen that pops up, you can either click the play button to start screen sharing or the cog icon to adjust screen sharing settings. The settings available for you to adjust are two check boxes, one that only allows you to view the customer’s screen (not control) and one that lets the customer choose which applications you may control
Once you begin screen sharing, you can use the customer’s computer just as you would any other computer. There are also tools built into Bomgar to facilitate troubleshooting, explained below.
Screen Sharing Tools:
The shield icon on the right elevates your privileges to administrator. This requires customer confirmation.
The 3 icons depicting silhouettes with signs over them allow you to transfer, add, or remove a person from the session, respectively
The link or chain icon allows you to insert a custom link, default drop down options include a google search, traceroute, and an option to configure additional custom links
The red X icon ends the bomgar session
The pane at the bottom will show you relevant session information
The Monitor icon with a hold sign over it will stop screen sharing
The mouse icon will toggle control of the customer’s mouse and keyboard
The monitor icon with a pencil over it will let you add annotations or draw on the customer’s screen
The monitor icon with the power sign will allow you to reboot or shutdown a customer’s computer
The CDA keys icon will send a CTRL+ALT+DELETE action to the client
The monitor icon with wand in front will let you send a special action to the client (like run command, open control panel, etc)
The monitor icon with camera in front will take a screenshot
The right 4 monitor icon will manipulate view by selecting which monitor to view, toggling scaled vs actual view, and adjusting quality, and toggling between windowed and full screen, respectively
Presentations:
You can start a presentation by clicking Present then clicking Start Presentation… from the drop-down
Once you start a presentation, you can choose which of your windows can be viewed by the participants and preview what they would see from the center pane. The pane on the right will also give you the access key and url for participants to watch your presentation, and allow you to change the settings of your presentation
