Setting your Security Defaults is an important measure to ensure your Zoom meeting is uninterrupted or hacked. This article will cover the basic settings that should be used for all meetings.

Instructions:

Zoom Meeting Security Toolbar Icon for Hosts

Make sure the following are Off

  • Participants video (You may also want to turn off Host video, then turn it on in-meeting)

  • Join before host

  • Annotation

  • Remote control

  • Allow removed participants to rejoin

  • Use Personal Meeting ID (PMI) when scheduling a meeting

Make sure the following are On

  • Mute participants upon entry

  • Allow host to put attendee on hold

  • Screen sharing, with host only

  • Waiting room. You can choose to either put all attendees there until you admit them, or guests only--attendees.
