Requirements for Taking a Proctorio Proctored Exam
Use a Windows, Mac, or Chromebook computer (not an iPad or other mobile device).
Ensure your device has a webcam.
Have your Florida Poly ID card ready for showing to your webcam to verify your identity. Do not show your driver's license or another ID.
Use the Chrome web browser.
Install the Proctorio Chrome Extension before starting the exam.
Once you’ve installed the Proctorio Chrome Extension, you will take your exam in Canvas as you do with other exams and quizzes. The name will indicate that the exam is being remotely proctored.
Have a reliable Internet connection. Run this Internet speed test to ensure your upload speed is at least 0.244 Mbps. Home broadband upload speed is typically many times higher.
Sit in a quiet, well-lit space. Any bright windows or lights should not be directly behind you so the webcam can more clearly see your face.
A pencil or pen and several blank sheets of paper. You will be doing and showing some handwritten work on paper during this exam. a. Alternatively, you can use the digital whiteboard that will be available to you on the screen during the exam. Note- Methods will vary. Please read all directions from your professor. You may be required to upload documents that show your work to a separate assignment.
Sit 2-3 feet away from your webcam so that your face and your workspace are visible on the video. See How To: Show Your Workspace During Proctorio Exams. a. If that is not possible, you can hold up your sheets of paper to the webcam to share what you have written.
Taking the Exam: If Proctorio determines your workspace is in violation, you will receive a notification. Once these violations are corrected, you will be allowed to proceed with the Exam.
When finished, submit the Exam.
